Diabetes medicine helps keep your blood sugar levels under control. These medicines work best when used with meal planning and exercise. When sugar builds up in the blood instead of going into your cells, it can cause two problems:

Right away, your cells may be starved for energy
Over time, high blood sugar levels may hurt your eyes, kidneys, nerves or heart

No single medicine is a cure for diabetes. That’s why taking your medicine as prescribed, eating healthy and exercising are keys to living healthier with diabetes.

Never stop or skip a dose of your diabetes medicine without your doctor’s permission.
