Busting Myths about the Flu Shot

11/29/2016
Consider these myths - BUSTED! Don’t go unprotected this flu season.

The people at highest risk for the flu are children, the elderly (those over 65 years old), people with chronic illness, and pregnant women. Try to follow these healthy tips to keep the flu bug away:

  • Avoid close contact with sick people whenever you can
  • Wash your hands with soap and water OFTEN
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces, objects, and electronics to limit germs being spread
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth without washing your hands first
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and then throw it away – if you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow not your hands
  • If you have flu-like symptoms, stay home and limit being around others – if your symptoms get worse, see your doctor right away
